Western Galloway is made for slow, outdoor days. The village sits beside the Water of Luce, with open moorland and forest to the north and the long sands of Luce Bay to the south.

Golf

The Rhins and the Machars have several golf courses within an easy drive, from parkland to links by the sea.

Fishing

The Water of Luce runs through the village. Fishing in Scotland needs the right permit for the stretch you fish, so check locally before you cast.

Walking

The Southern Upland Way passes through New Luce, and Galloway Forest Park offers waymarked trails for every level.

Cycling

Quiet country roads link New Luce, Glenluce and the coast, and Galloway Forest Park has mountain bike trails.
